On behalf of a hospital in Southern Norway, we are seeking an endocrinologist for a permanent position.

The department currently consists of three permanent senior consultant positions, two of which are filled by specialists in internal medicine and endocrinology. The hospital serves a population base of approximately 200,000 people, providing a diverse and stimulating patient base.

About the role:

This position is predominantly outpatient-based, focusing on all aspects of endocrinology, including pituitary disorders, thyroid and parathyroid issues, adrenal and gonadal dysfunctions, osteoporosis, and diabetes (mainly type 1). The endocrinology team collaborates closely with a skilled diabetes nurse team and operates a nurse-led diabetes clinic. In recent years, the department has managed over 2,000 annual consultations in the endocrinology outpatient clinic.

The role also includes providing consultant services for patients admitted to other departments at the hospital and for general practitioners requiring specialist advice. When necessary, inpatient beds are available in the internal medicine department for endocrinological patients.

Qualifications:

Specialist in endocrinology with broad experience across the field (no specific sub-specialty is required).

European Medical Authorisation.

Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian. Free language course will be offered to foreign candidates.

Personal qualities:

Systematic and accurate in your approach to patient care.

Collaborative and flexible, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and transition smoothly between outpatient work and consultations.

A strong emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the role, with a positive attitude being crucial for maintaining a good work environment.

What we offer:

A permanent, full-time position in a well-established endocrinology department.

Competitive salary and attractive pension, loan, and insurance conditions.

Comprehensive support throughout the recruitment process, including assistance with Norwegian authorisation and specialist approval if needed.

Help with accommodation and travel arrangements, along with support for your family if required.

Free language training offered remotely via Teams/Skype.
