On behalf of a hospital located centrally in East Norway, we are seeking a haematologist for a permanent position. There are constantly emerging treatment options for patients with haematological conditions, and the hospital aims to strengthen the team with more haematologists.

The hospital is situated in a city surrounded by pedestrian streets, green spaces, water bodies, and beautiful buildings. The city boasts a rich cultural life with its own theatre scene, several festivals, concerts, theatre performances, and sporting events. The area offers pleasant housing prices and a great environment for the upbringing of children and youth.

 

Responsibilities:

Evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of haematological diseases. The hospital does not perform high-dose therapy with autologous stem cell support, but provides follow-up care afterwards.

Microscopic examination of blood smears/bone marrow aspirates.

Guidance/supervision of resident doctors.

Contribution to internal training and quality work within the department, including the development and updating of procedures related to blood disorders.

Close collaboration with Oslo University Hospital (OUS) regarding centrally treated patients.

Work is divided between the inpatient ward, outpatient clinic, and infusion unit, where senior physicians follow up with patients alongside resident doctors.

 

Qualifications:

Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country.

Specialist in haematology.

Knowledge of Scandinavian languages written and spoken, alternatively, be open to go through language training up to B2 level.

A clean criminal record must be documented through a police certificate in accordance with the Health Personnel Act.
